Read It! Some people count the calories they eat. Chain restaurants now must include calorie counts on their menus and drive-through signs. That way, customers can see the numbers when they are ordering. The requirement is part of a law signed in March 2010 designed to improve health care. It covers any restaurant with 20 or more locations. That affects more than 200,000 chain restaurants. The U.S. government now sets national guidelines for menus. Most restaurants support the new legislation. Previously, city and state requirements were not all the same.
