Lord of the Flies is a novel about a group of “proper British boys” who end up trying to survive on an island for months on end. The biggest obstacle is that there are no adults. The boys range in ages from six to twelve years old. We are not told a specific number of boys, but there a seven main characters and numerous additional boys.
