Rob, age 16, wanted to buy a Harley-Davidson “Sportster” motorcycle. He did not have the funds to pay cash but persuaded the dealer to sell the cycle to him on credit. The dealer did so partly because Rob said that she was 21 and showed the dealer an identification card that falsely stated his age as 21. A few days later, Joe damaged it and then returned it to the dealer and stated that he disaffirmed the contract because he was a minor. The dealer said that he could not because (1) he had misrepresented his age and (2) the motorcycle was damaged. Can he avoid the contract and on what grounds?
