(BE QUICK AM IN A MAP TEST) The Moon in the Well That night Mrs. Kim immersed herself in thought while looking at the bright moon reflected in her cup of tea. Mr. Chung thought of white and shiny pearls while looking at his bowl of rice. It was a night of thoughts for the wise and for the foolish. Mrs. Kim's son Hyun peeked over the edge of the well and saw the moon, round and white, seemingly trapped at the bottom. "Oh no!" he thought, and after a moment or two, he hurriedly stepped away and came back with a rope and a hook tied to its end. He dropped the hook down the well, which fell smoothly until it hit the bottom with a gentle thud. Then he pulled the rope, but the hook was now wedged between two rocks at the bottom. Hyun pulled hard once, twice... and the third time he pulled so hard that the rope snapped. Lying on his back, Hyun opened his eyes and saw the bright moon in the sky, next to the stars. He jumped up and ran home to tell his mother how he had saved the moon. Why is the ending of the story humorous? O 1. Everybody heard how Hyun thought he saved the moon. O 2. Hyun thought a reflection of the moon was the real thing. 3. Hyun mistook the object at the bottom of the well for the moon. 4. Each character saw the reflection of the moon in a different place.
