Ted Walter (CEO and founder): Ted Walter started A&D High Tech’s first store in 1988 which prided itself on welcoming customer service. Walters believed that the Midwestern culture gave the company an advantage in marketing the sales primarily to retail stores. With tough competition and margins decreasing, Walters had to invest in new ways to grow his company which prompted him to create an online store. He was very hesitant about this because he did not want to disrupt the "mom and pop" operation at A&D. After thoughtful consideration, he consulted with the VP of sales Jeff White who had Matt Webb, CIO, to begin the project.
