Parameters of a concrete beam of (created using the simulation software Ftool in Q1):
• Isotropic material Length of beam = 20 m
• Simply supported type, supported at 0 m and 20 m
• Cross section of the beam: Rectangular L= 350 mm, W = 250 mm
E = 200 000 MPa Point load of 100 KN applied at x = 0 and x = 20 • Moment of 50 KNm applied at x = 15
• Distributed load of 10 KN/m from x = 5 to x = 15
a) Show the shear force diagram with the above given values (show the screenshot)
b) Using the parameters above just change the cross area (change L and W dimensions) of the beam and value of Young's modulus. Take any value. Do you notice any changes to shear force diagram? Explain wh this happens. (Show the screenshot)
c) Instead of the simply supported beam, create a cantilever beam with a fixed support at x = 20 maintaining all the loads and dimensions given in the example. II. What happens to this diagram if you change Young's Modulus (E)?
I. What do you notice happens to the shear force diagram as well as the reactions? (show screenshot)
