When characterizing (or studying) populations, ecologist can measure
the number of predators in the area where the population is found
the population size
the sex ratio in within the population
the population density
the age structure (the relative numbers of young, middle-aged, old) individuals
the weather in the area where the population is found
the pattern of distribution of the individuals in the population.
