Operation Ceasefire has two main elements: a direct law enforcement foc on illicit gun traffickers who supply youth with guns and: 1)
a. an attempt to generate a strong deterrent to gang violence 2)
b. reduction in unlicensed street vendors 3)
c. reduction in truancy in city schools 4)
d. reintegration of hard core gang members into conventional society
