*FUNGAL INFECTIONS* *dermatophytosis* (tinea/ringworm infections) - microsporum, epidermophyton, trichophyton - tinea/ringworm most commonly affects the skin on the body (tinea corporis), the scalp (tinea capitis), the feet (tinea pedis, or athlete's foot), or the groin (tinea cruris, or jock itch) - well demarcated round/oval erythemato lesions with central clearing - on the feet: scaling, cracks and fissures in sole and/or between toes. *candidiasis* - yeast infection that commonly affects the skin folds or the oral cavity in immunocompromised patients - one big erythemato lesion surrounded by satellites ptules - candida presentations: presentations: distributes in skin folds can cae diaper dermatitis (babies) between fingers ️ oral candidiasis *tinea versicolor* - yeast infection (Malassezia) - scaly hyperpigmented patches/oval lesions that resolve into hypopigmented lesions (vitiligo like). - affects the trunk, neck, and/or arms only.
