Why Are Zoos Important?
Forests across the world are full of fascinating animals and birds. However, because of deforestation and global warming, many animals are facing the threat of extinction. A zoo helps to protect and conserve animals. Keeping animals in zoos ensures that at least a few of their species are safe and protects them from mass extinction.
Children and adults who live in cities seldom have the opportunity to watch a wild animal. Though people watch detailed documentaries of animals or observe their specimens in museums, these activities fail to provide them with the experience of observing animals in reality.

Esther wishes to develop her essay about the importance of zoos by adding another paragraph. Organize the following sentences into a logical paragraph.
Though they are a rare species now, wild
giant pandas can be found in their
natural habitat in the dense bamboo
forests of central China.
The giant panda is known as the panda
bear, bamboo bear, or in Chinese as
da xiong mao, the "large bear cat."
Zoos not only provide the opportunity
to see animals in real life, but they
also support the conservation of
animals such as the giant panda.
Breeding programs should be put in place
to protect populations of giant pandas
in the wild.
The problem, however, is that they have
been driven nearly to extinction by
habitat loss and poaching.
To protect them, China has extended
loans of giants pandas to zoos around
the world as part of their commitment
to their conservation.
