It is true that decreased use of pesticides and herbicides can help agricultural sustainability. Pesticides and herbicides are used to kill unwanted insects and weeds, however, their long-term use will lead to the unintentional killing of beneficial organisms as well as polluting air, water, and soil as attributed to their toxic contents. The concept of agricultural sustainability is to meet the needs (food for society) of the present without compromising the food supply of the future generation, hence, the limit in the application of pesticides and herbicides can help achieve this.
