A day before the NPP parliamentary elections, the people of Jacobu were greeted with heavy-duty and earth-moving machines to fix and have the roads tarred. The contractor started working like Michael Essien in his prime football age at Chelsea Football Club. While people doubted this construction, the supporters of the Members of Parliament were happy that this could be the magic wand to tune the minds of delegates to ensure the MP enjoyed an additional 4 years as a member of parliament. Okatakyie Aduhene constantly submitted on the Amansie Central Youth Association platform that this is an 'Adanko daadaa adwee' formula used by politicians to win elections. On 27th January 2024, the delegates elected Lawyer Anthony Mieh as the parliamentary candidate for NPP in Jacobu and the incumbent MP lost. While the supporters of the newly elected candidate were jubilating, the incumbent MP who lost and his supporters were blaming the central government for not providing the needed funds to engage in road projects in the district. As a student of Public Finance answer the following questions: a) What are the sources of revenue for the government to engage in projects? b) What innovative sources can the Jacobu District Assembly deploy to ensure increased revenue generation at the local level to ensure development at the local level? c) What are the challenges associated with revenue mobilization in Ghana?
