VISUAL GUIDE DIRECTIONS/STEPS Begin by typing the prompt in the middle hexagon. This is the question you must answer or the position you must develop to write your essay. i.e. How should policymakers and those in power respond to police abuse of power/brutality? Read each source and determine the claim it is making. Inside each hexagon, label the source (“Source A”, for example) and type the claim below it. Always be thinking “How is this source responding to the prompt?” For each source, identify a quote/piece of evidence that supports the source’s claim, AND that is helpful to you in responding to the prompt. Type it in the text box off to the side of each source hexagon Finally, as you are inputting claims from each source, look for the “conversations” the sources are having with each other. Do they agree on ___ (idea)? Does one source dispute ___ (idea) from the other? Understanding these connections may mean that it will make more sense if you rearrange the hexagons. This is easier done by hand than it is digitally, so I would worry more about simply explaining the “conversations” between two sources by typing in the small text box in between them. This can be very short and simple. BLANK TEMPLATE
