One of the materials requirements in the LEED Materials category (before any actual points can be earned):

a. The building must use materials from no more than 250 miles away during construction
b. 50% of materials must be recycled
c. A designated area and bins must be provided for collection of recyclables
d. 100% of materials must be recycled
