Sympathetic is a short pre-ganglionic nerve, then a long post-ganglionic nerve to the effector organ. However, there is an exception with the Adrenal Medulla. Some fibers actually go up towards the adrenal medulla, where catecholamines are then directly secreted into the bloodstream. What is the exception with the Adrenal Medulla?
1) The fibers are short pre-ganglionic nerves
2) The fibers are long post-ganglionic nerves
3) The fibers secrete catecholamines into the bloodstream
4) The fibers do not go towards the adrenal medulla
