What are the guidelines for proper placement of the warning devices, flares, triangles and flares during an emergency situation if you are on a curve or hill ?
a. Place the warning devices 100 feet behind the vehicle on a curve, and 500 feet behind on a hill, if possible.
b. Place warning devices at the crest of the hill or curve to alert oncoming traffic as soon as possible.
c. If on a curve, place one warning device on the approach side and one on the far side of the curve to give drivers ample warning.
d. Avoid placing warning devices in areas of poor visibility, such as right at the apex of a curve or the crest of a hill.
