What can we learn from history? Isn’t it obvious? Nothing! Over and over again, the human race gets itself involved in ridiculous, wasteful wars. And for what? Somebody’s ego? Some piece of land? It never makes any sense to me how adults are always telling kids to play nice together, to share their stuff, and when they get older, to learn to make compromises. But sometimes it’s pretty clear that’s not how the world works at all. Sure, sometimes lawmakers and other people who make history get together and hammer out an agreement and then pose to get their pictures taken, but I don’t buy it. Maybe it’s possible to learn from history, but I don’t see it happening on a daily basis. That’s just how I feel. Select the sentence that best describes this passage.
