Remember, you are trying to get the best deal for a promising retail investment. Because you know real estate is a people-intensive business, you begin to think through the potential players you could approach. Your hope is to learn more about the seller's position and the property itself, but between now and your meeting tomorrow, you are not sure who will be available. Who do you reach out to first?
1) A city planner at the city's Community Planning and Development Office.
2) The architect of the building who has an office a block away from the property; it would be easy to drop by her office to ask some questions about the property.
3) The neighbors in the surrounding area, many of whom live in several condo complexes that surround the retail property and the adjacent properties in the area.
