Former President Donald Trump is a very polarizing (to separate into opposing groups) individual that stirs many different emotions in many people. Obviously, he is no longer president, nor does he hold any political office. There have been many instances where members of the Republican Party express their discontent with him publicly. The Democrats obvious dislike him. We discussed the goal and nature of Political parties yesterday. After listening to former President Trump in this interview: why does the Republican party rely on him so heavily? Why does the news cover him so closely? He technically can’t offer anything but opinions at the moment, so why is he seemingly always front and center in both Democrat and Republican business? What does each party hope to achieve by keeping him "involved?" Does it benefit both parties?
