Interest groups play a controversial role in American politics. On the one hand, interest groups argue that as associations of people, they have a right to express their views and have their voices heard like any other organization. On the other hand, some argue that interest group activity, especially by big businesses and corporations, distort American politics and policy resulting in a government that caters primarily to the interests of the rich and powerful rather than everyday American people.In your opinion, do you believe interests groups play a valuable and positive role in American politics and government?
