Whenever change initiatives are launched, there are multiple "narratives" that flow through the organization because:
1) A change champions do not make sense of those often conflicting narratives.
2) B frontline workers are not threatened by the changes.
3) C communication from the top management is almost always inadequate, and listening from the frontline workers is often filtered.
4) D change champions cannot trade currencies with frontline workers over whom they have no authority.
5) E change champions focus on creating lose-win exchanges that obstruct organizational changes.
