Herbert frequently takes business trips for work, and his wife often joins him. His office
covers $50 worth of food for its employees' dinners when they travel. Together, Herbert
and his wife are easily able to eat together at a restaurant and keep the price under the $50
limit (they turn in the receipts and have to pay for alcohol on their own); they don't get to
eat out together often and enjoy it. However, when Herbert mentioned this practice to a
coworker, Robert, Robert argued that Herbert's behavior was "stealing" from the
company. Herbert responded that as long as he was under the limit, since the company
didn't have a policy against it, he was fine, and that it should be considered a job perk.
