The term “nuclear” comes from Latin “nux” which means nut. A nuclear family refers to a household that contains parents ( of both sexes - mother and father) and their children (adopted or their own). Their goal is to spend as much quality time together as possible in order to maintain good family relationships. Conflicts rarely happen in nuclear families as it is in their best interest to lead a peaceful life.
