The federal student aid is aimed to provide loans for the students who were not born in a family that can afford to pay for expensive college education.
When singing up for federal student aid, the student enter an agreement with the government in which the government would provide the student with loans to pay up the student's tuition. In return, the students would give back the money when they're already employed plus the interest.
