A sewing pattern calls for 1/2 meter of red ribbon and 1/5 meter of blue ribbon. What is the unit rate in meters of red ribbon per meter of blue ribbon?

Hello!

First you have to find how many sections of blue ribbon makes 1 meter

1/5 * 5 = 1

It takes 5 sections of blue ribbon to make one meter of blue ribbon

Multiply this by the sections of red ribbon

1/2 * 5 = 2.5

The answer is 2.5 meters of red ribbon for every meter of blue ribbon
