The early indigenous population of Central America were FARMERS.
The Central America is close to the sea, it has fertile soil, it has high amount of rainfall anually and it has tropical climate, these conditions make it a suitable place for cultivation of different crops. 
I would think this would be false as some of the early inhabitants of Central America were the Mayas and their kingdoms were mostly inland so I believe they were mainly farmers involved in agriculture rather than mainly fishermen.
