The answer is Jet Stream. A narrow band of high winds located near the top of the troposphere is Jet Stream. They are narrow bands of strong wind in the upper levels of the atmosphere. The winds blow from west to east in jet streams but often shifts to the north and south. They follow the boundaries between hot and cold air.
