Lip prints are similar to finger prints in a way that they are unique in every individual.
According to a study that was published in the National Journal of Maxillofacial Surgery, considering the consistency of lip prints over time and the accurate correlation of indirect prints to direct prints, lip prints can be used as a reliable forensic tool.
However, lip prints alone won't be enough to convict or exonerate a person of interest, as there are other factors to consider, like: circumstantial evidence and others.
