I feel like this is a trick question but I can't figure it out.

Respuesta :

All of the following biotic and abiotic factors are necessary to an ecosystems ability to function.

Answer:

Carnivores

Explanation:

There are five basic components without which an ecosystem could not survive -

  1. energy,
  2. mineral nutrients,
  3. water,
  4. oxygen, and
  5. living organisms.

The entire energy of an ecosystem comes from  the sun, thus sun is essential. Similarly , water and climate is also essential. Water provides the free electron  during the photosynthesis reaction and fair climate ensures visibility of sun. Producers produce food which is consumed by herbivores , thus both plants and herbivores are important. Plant takes nutrients from soil thus soil is also important. Now if carnivores are removed from the ecosystem, then herbivores will die naturally and their dead bodies will be decomposed by the decomposers.

Thus, without carnivores an ecosystem could probably survive.
