Producers produce food which is consumed by herbivores , thus both plants and herbivores are important. Plant takes nutrients from soil thus soil is also important. Now if carnivores are removed from the ecosystem, then herbivores will die naturally and their dead bodies will be decomposed by the decomposers.
Thus, without carnivores an ecosystem could probably survive.
