FCoE is being positioned as a storage network option M6 which consolidate FC SAN traffic and Ethernet traffic onto a common Ethernet infrastructure. The benefit is that it reduces the number of adapters, switch ports, and cables, it also reduces costs and eases data center management, and It reduces power and cooling cost along with floor space.
