An exotic species (also called an introduced species) is the term that describes a species that is brought into an ecosystem where it does not naturally occur.
An exotic species is a species (plant or animals) that is living outside its native environment. Exotic species are usually brought into an environment outside their native ranges by human activity which may be inadvertent or deliberate. Most of the exotic species usually become invasive (spread and cause damage) in the environments into which they are introduced.
