It was first formulated by Augustine of Hippo and later refined by Thomas Aquinas. It holds that war is never good although it is sometimes necessary. However, necessary wars need to be conducted within the confines of justice. This would make the war just.
People often have different views and opinions. Christians often have different stand be concerning military involvement. They are actively involved in Christian's stand be concerning military involvement but not all denominations.
- But most importantly, Christians do believe that war should be avoided as much as possible.
They believe that war should only be undertaken when all efforts to handle the conflict by peaceful means have failed. They see war as failure to live by God's will and ways.
