An intellectual achievement of the Islamic Golden Age was the abundance of literary accomplishments. Several figures during this time created major impacts upon society and generated written works which were used for ages to come. Averroes, a scholar and scribe, translated and preserved Aristotle’s scientific observations. In his spare time, he wrote his own observations on Islamic philosophy and spirituality. Rumi, a famous poet, delved into a more artistic side of literature and generated poems on passion plus his devotion to the Islamic faith; a plethora of these poems are still cherished, related to, and read. Finally, one novel widely revered in the modern and ancient world is One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of short stories for readers.
