Kidnapping
is the unlawful carrying away by force and incarceration of a person against
his will. It is a criminal offense.

usually men. Most abducted children are female and in their teens. Approximately
2000 missing children we reported in the United States.
Guardians
can never be prepared for kidnappings but it is wise to take note of key
information about their children such as height, weight, eye color. A recent
photograph would be helpful. It is also wise to make sure custody papers are
prepared. Other documents that can be very important are medical and dental records.
It
is also prudent to never leave the kids unattended. Choosing caregivers and
people who have contact with the children is also perceptive. Set boundaries
about places the children can go. Supervise kids' internet interactions.
Teach
kids to be cautious. Train them to identify danger and to choose safe options.
Teach them the basics on to how to avoid and getaway from uncomfortable and dangerous
situations. Discipline the children to never accept gifts from people they
don't know. Educate the kids about how they can say and call for help if
someone suspicious is making them uneasy. It is also best to make sure that
children memorize their names and/or names of the family members, address and
phone number, and make sure they can identify homes and establishments they can
go to for help.
