The Declaration of Independence ratified on 4th July 1776, stated that the United States was free from its colonial masters, Great Britain, not Spain. In fact, it was the first step towards the formation of the United States as thirteen British colonies come together to formalize their freedom. The declaration was written in the midst of the American Revolutionary War of 1775 to 1783 between these 13 colonies and Great Britain; the United States eventually won. To commemorate the importance of the declaration of independence, the United States celebrates their independence day every 4th of July.

The Declaration of Independence stated that the United States was free from Britain, not Spain. So this statement is false.

The Declaration of Independence was when ( In 1776) the 13 colonies of the United States announced that they wanted to be free from Britain's rule. The British had imposed unfair taxes on everything, so some decided to rebel and some decided to stay loyal. Violence didn't work but non- violence did. After all 13 colonies signed the Declaration of Independence, USA got its Independence from Britain.
