Chomsky published a review in 1959 on Verbal Behavior. His work is thought to have been influential. However, it has drawn criticism from a number of critics and the most famous criticism was from He argued that Chomsky did not understand behavioral psychology and the differences between Skinner's behaviorism and other varieties. He also added that Chomsky made several serious logical errors. Chomsky's review also argued to misrepresent the work of Skinner and others because he took the quotes out of the text. Chomsky answered the criticism by stating that Skinner's behavioral psychology "was being used in Quinean empiricism and naturalization of philosophy".
