There are a lot of theories out there but when I went to a holocaust museum this is what I was told. Hitler used the already strained economic times in Germany to blame the Jewish people for the economic state of Germany, and the lack of employment opportunities for Germans. By the time Hitler came to full power, there was great hatred for the Jews. Because the Nazi's did to publicize what they were doing to the Jews many Germans thought they were being deported not murdered.
One of the most important reasons for the Holocaust was antisemitism. 'Germany does not buy from Jews,' says the banner in this photo. The Wiener Holocaust Library's Motorcycle Album, a collection of images shot on a journey from the Dutch border to Berlin in 1935, contains this image.
About Holocaust:

- By the time Hitler rose to power, there was widespread anti-Semitism.
- Because the Nazis publicized what they were doing to the Jews, many Germans mistook them for deportations rather than murders.
