Here's a trinomial with a negative constant and binomial factors with constants with opposite signs:

x^2+x-6=(x+3)(x-2)

We could write that one -(-x-3)(x-2) but that's not really the product of two binomials.

So it's true they have opposite signs, but that's because opposites multiply to a negative, wrong explanation in the answer, let's say false.
