Jessica is voting for dancers in a contest. She votes for the first contestant 5 times, the second contestant 9 times, and the third contestant 13 times. If she continues this pattern, how many times will Jessica vote for the fourth contestant? SHOW YOUR WORK AND EXPLAIN THE ANSWER

a1=a=5               d=a2-a1=9-5=4              n=4 as 4th term

Sn= a+(n-1)d
       5+(4-1)4
       5+(3)4
       5+12
       =17
she will vote 17 times for the 4th contestant
if the first one is 5 count from 5 to 9 see how many u counted and u counted  four  and then do 9+4=13 then do13+4=17 so 17 is  the fourth one so the rule is +4 every time
