Jason and Doug competed in the long jump at a track meet. Jason's long jump was 98 inches. Doug's long jump was 3 yards. How much longer was Doug's jump than Jason's jump?

One foot is 12 inches, multiply that by 3 and you have 1 yard.  
To get one yard to 3 yards ad 36+36+36 or 36 X 3 

3 yards is 108.

Drugs jump was 3 yards. 

3 yards = 108
3 yards = Doug's jump
Doug's jump = 108

108- 98 = 10

Doug's jump was 10 inches longer
