Coastal plains are known as flat and low lying land and it is adjacent to the sea coast. World’s largest coastal plains are situated in Alaska and southeastern parts of the United States. The largest coastal plain in the world is located in North America and that extends from the Gulf of Mexico, goes along with the lower areas of the Mississippi River to the Ohio River and its distance is about 1579 kilometers.
On the other hand, the coastal plains of India are present on the other side of the Peninsula Plateau which goes along with the western and reaches till the Eastern coasts of India. These coastal plains extend for about 6150 kilometers from the Rann of Kutch in western India to the West Bengal to the east.
