Three early trading cultures along the Mediterranean Sea were Ugarit, Byblos, Troy. Ugarit was an ancient port city. It is the ruins that is located in Ras Shamra, in northern Syria. Byblos is believed occupied in the years 8800 and 7000. Troy was a city located in Asia Minor, and the plot and setting of the Trojan War described in Iliad.
