Hydraulic systems place a small amount of force on one area of a fluid with increased pressure in order to increase the overall force on a larger surface area.

Respuesta :

This system is used in hydraullics to increase the force on larger area

This is based upon the principle of Pascal's law

As per Pascal's law the pressure will remain the same on the same level

so if we applied some small amount of force on small area then the pressure will transmitted into the liquid by same amount

[tex]P = \frac{F}{a}[/tex]

here a= smaller area

F = applied smaller force

Now the pressure will transmit to bigger area without any change

so the force that is received by bigger area will be

[tex]F_{out} = Pressure * Area[/tex]

[tex]F_out = \frac{F}{a} * A[/tex]

A = area of the bigger platform

so by the above expression we can say that overall force will be more on bigger area.

So above statement is TRUE
