The peppered moth population in a locality has light and dark moth varieties. The tree barks in the locality are covered with light-colored lichens. How would the population of the two moth varieties change over time?

Respuesta :

the peppered moth is a great example of evolution. the lighter colored moths have adapted to mimic light backgrounds, similar to tree barks with light-colored lichens. they match that background which is harder for predators to spot them. their darker kin however, would stand out. making them easy targets for the Keen eyes of predators. so, if where they rest continues to be covered with light-colored lichen, then the lighter variety of moths will have higher chances of survival as well as be the majority of their populus

Answer: b; light moth population increases as they are prettied upon less frequently
