Please help because I'm getting confused, and please show step by step. :(

I am making cupcakes and one batch calls for 2 3/4 cups of flour. If I am going to make 3 1/2 batches, how many cups of flour will I need?

I feel like it tells the answer, but it might be wrong, I'm so confused :(

So lets just simplify them first
1 batch = 2 3/4 so...
11/4 cups

and you need to make 3  1/2 batch so..
7/2 batch

then you just multiply it...
11/4 x 7/2 
=77/8 
=9 5/8

so you will need 9 5/8 cups
