Inside a gallon is 4 quarts so then multiply 2 for every pint/quart then multiply 2 for every cup/pint which gets you to 16 cups. That's probably really confusing. Sorry.
Ok, so what your looking for is product of a multiplication problem aka: the answer. This is what your math should look like:
[tex]1G= 4Q\\ 1Q=2p\\ 1p=2\ Cups[/tex]
G= Gallon, Q=Quart, p=pint, Cups= Cups of water
So you must break everything down to find your answer. Since there are 4 Quarts in a gallon you have to multiply [tex]4\ by \ 2[/tex], because there is 2 pints in each Quart.
[tex]4Q *2p= 8p[/tex] or 8 pints.
Next to find how many cups of water there is in a gallon you must multiply the 8 pints by 2 because just like Quarts and pints, there is 2 cups of water in each pint.
[tex]8p*2\ Cups= 16\ Cups[/tex]
So there is 16 Cups of Water in 1 Gallon. Let me know if you get it wrong, cause if u let me know I promise I will come back and rework my math. Thanks :-)
