Clastic (or detrital): Sedimentary rock formed from particles of other sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous rock which has been weathered, eroded, deposited, compacted and cemented. Examples of clastic sedimentary rock include shale, sandstone, mudstone, and conglomerate.
