If you do this on a calculator, it will give you the result 83.75. (Some calculators will give you the mixed number result directly, as in the second attachment.) If you don't already know that 0.75 = 3/4, you can multiply 0.75×4 and find the result is 3. (The 4 in this multiplication is the original denominator.)
As you know, 83.75 means 83 + 0.75, which is the same meaning as 83 3/4.
