Carry out the division indicated by the fraction. When you do, you find you get a whole number quotient of 83 and a remainder of 3. Then the mixed number equivalent is ...
[tex]\dfrac{335}{4}=83\frac{3}{4}[/tex]
_____
If you do this on a calculator, it will give you the result 83.75. (Some calculators will give you the mixed number result directly, as in the second attachment.) If you don't already know that 0.75 = 3/4, you can multiply 0.75×4 and find the result is 3. (The 4 in this multiplication is the original denominator.)
As you know, 83.75 means 83 + 0.75, which is the same meaning as 83 3/4.
_____
Here, I have written mixed numbers in both the typeset form [tex]83\frac{3}{4}[/tex] and the text form 83 3/4. When you use mixed numbers as part of a larger expression, I recommend putting parentheses around the number, so there is less confusion as to its meaning.
