Oaklands zoo has two elephants. The male elephant weighs 3/4 a ton and the female elephant weighs 1/4 of a ton. How much does the male weigh more than the female?

so if you take away 1/4 from 3/4 you will get 2/4

3/4 - 1/4 = 2/4 or 1/2

so the male elephant weights 1/2 a ton more than the female
