The Sons of Liberty were an organization created in the American Colonies to claim for the inhabitants of the British colonies, and stood against the abuses of the colonizers, for example, in terms of taxes. For example, they fought for the abolition of the Stamp Act.
They participated in Boston Tea Party in 1773 and these actions triggered the arrival or the punitive laws known as Intolerable or Coercive acts, enacted by King George III.
